Holy Avtar Vani - Shabad No. 79

|
Suraj chann sitare sare nis dil aunde jande ne;
Agni dharti pani vi paye hardam chakkar khande ne.
Vayu jeev akash koi vi amar achal adol nahin;
Nirankar abinashi de tul inhan chon koi tol nahin.
Jis da roop rang nahin koi jis da parawar nahin;
Kahe avtar bina gur bhete denda eh deedar nahin.

The sun, the moon and the stars, all keep on appearing and disappearing day and night;
The fire, the earth and the water also keep on moving all the time.
The air [Vayu], the living being [Jeeva] and the sky [Aakash] are not immortal, permanent and stable;
None of these elements can be equated with the eternal Formless One-Nirankar.
God, who is beyond all attributes of form and colour and who is limitless;
Avtar says, He does not reveal Himself unless one meets the True Master.

Meaning
The Sun, Moon and Stars rise and set every day in the sky. Fire, Water and Earth continue to move in their respective cycles and orbits. The Wind, the Living beings and Ether; none of these are eternal, permanent or stable. There is no comparison between the nine elements and the Nirankar (Eternal Formless One). God, the Formless and the Colorless, is beyond all attributes and dimensions and is boundless. Avtar says he can only be seen on meeting the True Master.
